Traditionally, improving a car's handling has often meant making its suspension firmer. While increased stiffness can reduce body movement, it can also compromise ride quality and make a car less composed on real-world roads.
TracTive approaches suspension differently.
Rather than simply making a car harder, the objective is to provide greater control of the vehicle and its suspension movement.

TracTive ACE – intelligent suspension technology
At the heart of TracTive's semi-active suspension range is ACE – Active Controlled Electronics.
Each electronic damper incorporates TracTive's patented DDA – Dynamic Damping Adjustment – valve, capable of moving from its softest to hardest damping setting in approximately 6–10 milliseconds.
The system continuously responds to what the vehicle is doing, adjusting the damping characteristics as driving conditions change. Brake hard, accelerate, turn into a corner or encounter a poor road surface and the suspension can react almost instantaneously.
Instead of asking one fixed suspension setting to cope with every situation, TracTive can continuously adapt the damping to provide the control required at that moment. It is sophisticated technology, but its purpose is remarkably straightforward:

Modern technology for modern and classic cars
For vehicles already fitted with electronically controlled suspension, TracTive offers Plug & Play systems for selected applications, integrating with the vehicle's existing controls while replacing the original dampers with significantly more advanced TracTive technology.
For vehicles without factory electronic suspension, the stand-alone ACE system makes it possible to introduce modern semi-active suspension technology to classic, specialist and performance cars.
The driver can select and fine-tune the suspension through a dedicated in car control screen or Dial, while the TracTive electronics continuously manage the dampers in real time. This is particularly transformative in older performance cars.
The objective is not to remove their character, but to give the chassis a level of control that simply wasn't possible when many of these cars were originally developed.
